김영삼 전 대통령과 김대중 전 대통령은 취임 한 달 후 갤럽 조사에서 국정 운영 지지율이 각각 86%, 71%였다. 노무현 전 대통령과 이명박 대통령은 취임 전에 당선인으로서 직무 수행을 평가한 조사에서 지지율이 각각 78%, 64%였다.
